I hosted my web sistes on site5 for 10 years, it was good hosting for a reasonable price but in the last years the service got worse all the time, servers are slow, not updated for months, when they are updated there are often errors that support is not able to fix. Tech support is slow to answer and often useless, they are not able to fix the errors on the server
I have had an email problem on Site5 for nearly a year. It no longer provides telephone support and writing a "ticket" about an issue is summarily ignored. A few days later, after submitting a ticket, an email from site5 is received after each ticket that says. "since we have not heard from you the issue will be closed". I have sent several tickets complaining of he same issue numerous times and each time the issue is ignored and followed by the same email to me. There isn't even a statement that the issue was read.
I have therefore moved my website and hosting to another hosting company but Site5 relentlessly bombards me with email about the issue it refuses to resolve. I lost a lot of business because emails I sent to customers from it's server were consistently bounced from gmail, aol and yahoo email accounts because the Site5 server was insecure by gmail, aol and yahoo.
At this time, nearly a year after submitting the first ticket, and several months after moving my website to another host, Site5 refuses so acknowledge that I am no longer a customer. They keep sending those useless emails about the ticket being closed. I need to make sure that any future charges to my credit card that are attempted by Site5 are blocked since customer service has not deleted my account, even though I specifically sent a request to customer service insisting that my account be closed (and even though I have removed my website and email to another host).
Site5's support is Horrible ...the worst...it is non-existent!! I suspect there are no live support technicians working for this company, hence the spitting out the same canned email month after month to me "closing" my ticket without ever addressing my problem , and giving no pretext that there was even an effort to address the problem.
Their user website is difficult to use. I tried to renew a domain and it declined every card I used or it logged me out. After several attempts, I opened a ticket with their billing department. When I did not hear back, I initiated a transfer of the domain to another registrar. I then got a response that they successfully billed my card...for an expired domain! I will never do business with this company again.
Beware of sub-par services and sketchy billing practices
I did not host with them for great quality but the service was fairly cheap and provided decent vanilla WHM/CPanel installs. However, there is no simple and inexpensive way to add SSL, security is poor and there are a few other issues. Then they ratcheted up the price month by month from affordable to clearly out of line for what was provided. Then to punctuate the irritation I planned to cancel and checked my next invoice due date which was 11/16/22. I planned to close out the account on 11/14. Then I get a payment notice on 11/11. No problem I think, I will close the account and get refunded since the DUE DATE is on the 16th. Support lets me know that they cannot be refunded since it was already renewed. That would be fine IF the due date was not next week. Stay clear of these guys.
Stay away from Site5 - they rob customer's money taking customers money without permission
It deserves zero starts, Thieves, they keep customers car on file, and take hundreds of dollars from customers bank before billing date, then they say it is their policy and that they cant refund. Stay away from this company. And always remove your car info from everywhere, cant trust any of these companies. they make policies to rob people and use their policy to justify robbing people.
If I can give a zero rating I would. They lost all our sites (8 of them) and all the backups. Started having problem on the server since May, multiple tickets generated (reply time is very slow, sometimes a week or more), and after 3 months they still couldn't fix it. We paid for the backup service as well to backup our sites and they managed to lose that as well, stating their backup server appears to be corrupt and that we need to regenerate the files ourselves. Why do I pay them to save backup then??? Now I am requesting refunds since I have to move all my sites and build all of them from scratch, they are saying the problem was due to some customization on the VPS by us, which is untrue, and said they won't refund anything!!! This is not someone you want to do business with. I am still trying to rebuild my websites now. Stay away!!!!
Terrible! Their servers constantly had problems and frequent downtimes. Eventually, when we moved to a different hosting company and cancel with Site5, they were not even considerate enough to offer partial refund for the remaining term. STAY AWAY!
